9-29-20 THOUGHTS

I covet the idea of living CONFIDENTLY!  I want to know I am saved.  We sing “Blessed Assurance Jesus is Mine...”  We could talk about this all day and then some.  We will never know the ASSURANCE until we truly know GOD!   We know God’s word... do we know the God in that word?  It’s one thing to know the Bible, another to know the God of the Bible.
1John 5:6-13      This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7  For there are three that testify:  8  the Spirit and the water and the blood; and
the three are in agreement. 9  If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.  10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.  11  And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12  He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 13  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Some things happened in Jesus’ life that were remarkable ( may I say God placed)...   that TESTIFIED TO HIS SON-SHIP!  Verse 8 above says these things all said the same thing!
Some passages to help:
John 16:13-5    "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14  "He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. 15  "All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.
Matt 3:16-17   God’s testimony via His Spirit at Jesus’ baptism
2Pet 1:17   For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, "This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased" —
John 19:34-35   But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 35  And he who has seen
has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe.

The whole bible is TESTIMONY TO THE CHRIST!  We must hold this testimony within ourselves!  It must be alive and well within us!   It is to make us alive!  Be alive today!

My Prayer:
Enliven us Oh God with the truth of your dear son.  May we abide in your presence.  Help us to love you with our whole heart, may we rejoice as we think on how much you love us.  Teach us to know that we have eternal life.  Help us to see your strength and not our weakness.
In Jesus name                       Amen
